District
employees are encouraged to drop by the Serna Center, 1st Floor, Sgt.
Vince Matranga's office, 5735 - 47th Avenue to get their pictures if they need a district identification badge.
“In case of an
emergency, it’s very important to know who’s who on a school
campus,” Sgt. Vincent Matranga, Security Services, pointed out. “The
school staff know each other. But the police and fire fighters don’t
know who the parents or teachers are and who should be let back into the
buildings and so on. An ID badge clears it up.”
The ID badges also
increase safety on campus. They make it easy to distinguish between those
who should be there and those who should not. “Just to be on the safe
side, everyone needs to have an ID badge and wear it,” said Matranga.
To get a badge,
employees need to bring a photo and a typed identification card stating
their name, occupation and site.
Call Matranga at
643-7444 for more information.
