BASIC FUNCTION:
Plan, organize, control, and
direct the daily operations and assigned functions of the Information
Services Department; supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned
personnel; develop, review, and communicate information systems and
telecommunications policies district-wide.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Plan,
organize, control, and direct the day-to-day operations of the Information
Services Department in the areas of education and administrative
technology, telecommunications, network support, applications management,
customer support, work flow monitoring, and productivity assessment;
supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel.
Develop
short and long-range plans for the implementation and maintenance of
district computer technology, telecommunications, wide-area networking,
and applications.
Develop,
implement, and update internal information services procedures and
processes to assure smooth and efficient delivery of services and
compliance with laws, policies, and regulations.
Monitor
and direct the physical maintenance of the district’s computer,
applications, and telecommunications assets in support of the delivery of
information services.
Conduct
and attend meetings, resolve ad-hoc problems, provide directives and
guidance for staff, district personnel, and the public; execute special
assignments.
Communicate
with other administrators, district personnel, and members of the public
to coordinate activities, resolve issues, and exchange information.
Monitor,
direct, and control the storage of and access to critical district data to
assure confidentiality and security; direct all departmental activities.
Compose
reports and correspondence covering a wide variety of information
services, strategic planning, and telecommunications matters; write and
design Information Services manuals and other printed matter as required.
Perform
related duties as assigned.
TRAINING, EDUCATION AND
EXPERIENCE:
Any
combination equivalent to: bachelor’s degree in information systems,
computer science, or other related field; four years increasingly
responsible supervisory experience in information systems, services and
support, preferably in an educational environment, including recent
experience in information systems, telecommunications, network planning
and implementation, applications, and end-user support.
