BASIC FUNCTION:
Plan, organize and supervise
the daily operation of the Contracts Office with the Purchasing Services
Department; assure district purchases are made in accordance with
applicable laws, codes and policies; train, assign and supervise the work
of assigned personnel.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Plan,
organize and supervise the daily operation of the Contracts Office with
the Purchasing Services Department; assure district contracts are prepared
in accordance with applicable laws, codes and policies.
Receive
and respond to questions related to contracts, services, orders, quotes
and other related issues; provide technical information and assistance to
contractors and district personnel.
Train,
assign and supervise the work of assigned personnel; evaluate employees
and make recommendations related to personnel as appropriate.
Assist
management and other school/department staff in contractual or requisition
matters.
Prepare
and analyze bids, contracts, requisitions and related documents; prepare
award recommendations and submit to the Board as appropriate.
Plan,
organize and participate in the preparation, review and processing of
purchasing-related contracts and documents; prepare and maintain related
records, reports and files.
Maintain
current knowledge of changing and new legislation related to assigned
activities.
Communicate
with district personnel and outside organizations to coordinate
activities, resolve issues or concerns and exchange information.
Operate
various office equipment.
Perform
related duties as assigned.
TRAINING, EDUCATION AND
EXPERIENCE:
Any
combination equivalent to: bachelor’s degree in business or related
field, and three years responsible contracts administration or purchasing
experience.
LICENSES
AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Valid
California driver’s license and provide personal automobile.
