|
BASIC FUNCTION:
Plan, organize, control, and direct functions
relating to the facilities master plan, student demographics and movement,
and construction of facilities including budgets and schedules. Compile,
analyze, and provide timely reports of relevant data for school planning
purposes.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: (Incumbents may perform

Plan, organize, control, and direct functions relating to the
facilities master plan, student demographics and movement, and construction
of facilities including budgets and schedules. Compile, analyze, and provide
timely reports of relevant data for school planning purposes. E
Develop and manage the facilities master plan. E
Perform or direct a variety of facilities planning including
the district’s on-line student attendance system, administration of
developer fee guidelines, facility usage management, special projects, and
California Environmental Quality Act. E
Translate community growth projects into appropriate staffing
and facilities to accommodate present and future educational needs. Perform
planning duties including enrollment projections, boundary changes, growth
plan monitoring and development, and other related issues. E
Review, analyze, conduct on-site investigations, and report
on proposed development projects. E
Prepare comprehensive district-wide facility reports based
upon compiled relevant analyst data on a variety of school planning matters.
Prepare and present data in the form of written, graphic, or oral reports
for the use of school district administration, special committees, or
community organizations. E
Communicate effectively with the public through various media
both orally and in writing; serve as district spokesperson for facilities
matters. E
Direct the preparation and maintenance of clear and concise
comprehensive narrative and statistical reports; maintain appropriate
records. EDevelop, implement, and update internal facilities
management and planning procedures to assure smooth and efficient delivery
of services and compliance with laws, policies, and regulations. E
Coordinate facilities planning with the Planning and
Construction Department. E
Act as liaison to other public or private agencies in the
formulation of shared use covenants, developer mitigation agreements, and
community plan development. E
Develop short and long-range plans for increasing department
efficiency through the use of technology and other available resources. E
Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel;
recommend disciplinary and other personnel-related actions; train personnel
in assigned areas. E
Compile relevant data, and conduct analyses to serve as the
basis for securing and expending state building funds. E
Maintain department equipment and systems. E
Perform related duties as assigned.
TRAINING, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to: bachelor's
degree in business administration, public administration, architecture, or
related field, and three years of increasingly responsible supervisory
experience.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Valid California driver’s license, and provide
personal automobile.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
SAMPLE ENVIRONMENT:
Indoor and outdoor environment; driving a
vehicle to conduct work; constant interruptions.
SAMPLE PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
Hearing and speaking to exchange information
in person, on the telephone, and make presentations; seeing to conduct
inspections, read, prepare, and proofread documents; sitting or standing for
extended periods of time; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a
computer keyboard and other equipment; kneeling, bending at the waist, and
reaching overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally to retrieve and
store supplies; lifting heavy objects; climbing during inspections; walking
over rough or uneven surfaces at construction sites and during inspections.
SAMPLE HAZARDS:
Exposure to chemicals, fumes, or gases;
working around machinery having moving parts at construction sites and
during inspections; contact with dissatisfied or abusive individuals.
