BASIC FUNCTION:
Coordinate and
provide leadership for the development, implementation, enhancement, and
improvement of a substance abuse and violence prevention grant-funded
initiative entitled the Village Project. Provide a concentration of
programs, services, and community development activities in the Hiram
Johnson High School feeder area of SCUSD for at-risk students and their
families. Coordinate the implementation of district-wide activities included
in the Village Project.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: (Incumbents may

Coordinate and
provide leadership for the development, implementation, enhancement, and
improvement of a substance abuse and violence prevention grant-funded
initiative entitled the Village Project. Provide a concentration of
programs, services, and community development activities in the Hiram
Johnson High School feeder area of SCUSD for at-risk students and their
families. Coordinate the implementation of district-wide activities included
in the Village Project.
Establish and
coordinate the Village Safety and Wellness Center, Village Advisory Council
Evaluation Feedback Council, and six collaborative committees.
Ensure that
contractual obligations for the project are met, including adherence to
contract terms, production of timely and accurate progress reports, budget
and program modification requests, and communications with funder.
Maintain effective
and ongoing communications with project partners including Hiram Johnson
Village school principals and other appropriate school staff, Sacramento
Police Department, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department, University of
California Davis Medical Center, and Sacramento County Mental Health
Services, to create an inclusive, collaborative environment. Oversee
sub-contractor compliance with terms of agreement.
Schedule and
coordinate in-service trainings for Family Support Teams, Mobile
Intervention Team, law enforcement, county mental health, and other school
and community project resources.
Ensure that the
Village Project adheres to a child- and family-centered philosophy and
approach.
Supervise and
evaluate the performance of project staff.
Work with school
district Information Services staff and software contractor to implement the
Passport database system.
Oversee the
development of the evaluation component developed by research firm; analyze
available data, and disseminate results to project funder, school and
community partners, and other interested parties.
Develop a marketing
plan for The Village Project to publicize project programs, services, and
activities to youth, parents/caregivers, school staff, community referral
resources, and other interested parties.
Perform related
duties as assigned.
TRAINING, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to:
bachelor’s degree, and three years of responsible
experience in managing large-scale programs and community development
projects.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Valid California driver’s license, and provide
personal automobile.

perform at or below grade level, exhibit behavior problems, are chronically
truant and/or experience a personal crisis.
Planning, organization, and direction of
assigned programs.
Effective intervention strategies.
Applicable state and federal law, regulations,
and codes.
Grant writing.
Technical aspects of the job.
Applicable computer operations.
Oral and written communication skills.
Principles and practices of management,
finance, and rules surrounding budget and grant expenditures.
