BASIC FUNCTION:

 

Design and support curriculum embedded assessment-monitoring system. Provide information, based on data collection, analysis, and accurate interpretation of curriculum embedded assessments to facilitate informed decision-making regarding student progress.

 

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: (Incumbents may perform any combination of the essential functions shown below [E]. This position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, knowledge, or abilities associated with this classification, but is intended to accurately reflect the principal job elements.)

 

Design and support curriculum embedded assessment-monitoring system. Provide information, based on data collection, analysis, and accurate interpretation of curriculum embedded assessments to facilitate informed decision-making regarding student progress.  E

 

Provide direct technical assistance and support in the use of curriculum embedded assessments to targeted schools.  E

 

Design and provide intensive direct support, strategies, and training related to curriculum embedded assessments to low-achieving schools.  E

 

Support targeted schools to identify student needs in the areas of literacy and math.  E

 

Conduct data collection, organization, compilation, analyses, and interpretation of the results.  E

 

Create and maintain assessment databases, and produce data reports for various audiences.  E

 

Provide a positive climate of interaction and communication between school staffs in the review of curriculum embedded assessment data.  E

 

Perform related duties as assigned.

 

TRAINING, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:

 

Any combination equivalent to: bachelor’s degree or equivalent supplemented by course work in statistics, testing, and measurement, and two years experience in testing and research.

 


LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: 

 

Valid California driver’s license and provide personal automobile.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

 

KNOWLEDGE OF:

Standardized, performance-based, and other assessments.

Database systems and data management.

Computer software applications relevant to educational assessment.

Effective practices in math, reading, and language arts.

School district organization, operations, policies, and objectives.

Oral and written communications skills.

Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.

Operation of a computer terminal and data entry techniques.

 

ABILITY TO:

Design and support curriculum embedded assessment-monitoring system.

Provide information, based on data collection, analysis, and accurate interpretation of curriculum embedded assessments to facilitate informed decision-making regarding student progress.

Assist categorically funded district schools in the collection and monitoring of data.

Develop and conduct in-service training programs.

Operate a computer terminal to enter data, maintain records, and generate reports.

Analyze situations accurately, and adopt an effective course of action.

Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Complete assignments successfully with a minimum of direction and supervision.

Obtain maximum cooperation and rapport with departmental and other district employees.

Meet district standards of professional conduct as outlined in Board Policy.

SAMPLE ENVIRONMENT:

Office environment; driving a vehicle to conduct work.

 

SAMPLE PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

Hearing and speaking to exchange information and make presentations; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard; seeing to read and write reports, and view computer monitors; sitting or standing for extended periods of time; kneeling, bending at the waist, and reaching overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally; lifting light objects.
