DEFINITION
Under the general direction of the Manager, Transportation Services,
supervises, coordinates, develops and schedules the district student
transportation services; assists other Transportation Supervisors as
necessary; and does related work as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Credential: None required.
and
Education: Any combination or equivalent to graduation from high
school. Preference will be given for advanced degrees or course work
in management, business administration or education.
and
Experience: Two years increasingly responsible experience in school
bus transportation program. Preference will be given to school bus
transportation supervisory experience in a California school district.
and
Licensing/Certification: Preference will be given to persons
possessing a valid California Commercial Driver License Class A or B;
valid California School Bus Certificate; and a valid California Medical
Examiners Certificate.
TYPICAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Helps
to develop policies and procedures related to Transportation Services.

Coordinates
and develops master plan for long-term and daily scheduling of routes,
shift times and buses.

Oversees
and facilitates computerized route consolidation and development of
new route schemes for alternative transportation.

Conduct
surveillance of bus routes for hazards, road conditions or in response
to complaints.

Evaluates
employees as assigned.

Reviews
daily time reports, bus records and other required reports.

Receives
and handles inquiries from parents concerning routing, scheduling, bus
stops and transportation employees.

Utilizes
state-of-the-art, two-way radio communications base.

Other
related duties as assigned.
