DEFINITION
Under general direction, to perform skilled glazier work and to supervise
glaziers at the journeyman-level engaged in installing and replacing glass
in school buildings.
EXAMPLES
OF DUTIES
Assigns subordinates to work details and checks work in progress and upon
completion to ensure that it meets required standards; inspects buildings
and windows reported to be in need of repair and considers the need for
repair, estimates the time, labor, and materials needed; supervises and
performs the cutting and installation of plate glass for desk and table
tops and showcases; replaces broken glass; applies putty, metal settings,
or wood moldings to make glasswork secure and watertight; keeps records of
time, glass used, and work performed and needed; keeps stockroom up to
date and requisitions for stock; and performs related duties as required.
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
Standard methods, equipment, materials, and tools of the trade;
Occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.

Ability to:
Effectively supervise skilled glaziers at the journeyman level;
Interpret complex oral and written instructions;
Perform skilled glazing work;
Make accurate estimates of time and materials needed for installation and
repair work.
and
Experience:
Three years of paid full-time experience as a journeyman glazier.
and
Education:
Equivalent to completion of the tenth grade.
