DEFINITION
Under direction, to instruct and provide related services to pupils
assigned to remedial physical education classes.
QUALIFICATIONS
Credential: Possession of a standard teaching credential or
equivalent authorizing service as a teacher of physical education, issued
by the California State Teacher Preparation and Licensing Commission, is
required.

Education: A bachelor's or higher degree.
and
Experience: Preference will be given to those candidates who have
demonstrated outstanding ability in previous teaching experiences and/or
student teaching.
TYPICAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Conducts
individualized remedial physical education programs for assigned
pupils in keeping with the district and State of California
guidelines.

Assists
in the development of appropriate programs of remedial physical
education.

Assists
in the identification of pupils needing remedial physical education.

Establishes
and maintains contact with referring physicians.

Attends
Educational Assessment Service and School Appraisal Team meetings for
remedial physical education pupils.

Consults
with parents of remedial physical education pupils when advisable.

Prepares
pupil progress reports and maintains other necessary records.
-
Performs
other related duties as required.
WORK
SCHEDULE AND SALARY
The
Itinerant Teacher, Remedial Physical Education, serves on all days schools
are in regular session plus non-teaching service days, and is placed to
the teachers' salary schedule in accordance with training and experience.
