The Open Enrollment Program provides an opportunity for parents/guardians to request enrollment of their child at any school within SCUSD where space is available. All lotteries for elementary, K-8, Middle School, and High School open enrollment applications have been completed to provide families the opportunity to register students at their selected school of choice.  When applications exceed the available space at a grade level requested, a computerized random lottery determines placement. 

Elementary, K-8, and Middle School Registration

Open Enrollment Acceptance Letters for Elementary, K-8, and Middle School applications were mailed on April 1.   Registration timeline for parents who received the Acceptance Letters is from April 2 to April 18. Parents register at the school of choice as identified in the letter.   

Parents that determine they will decline registration are requested to notify the Open Enrollment Office at 643-9411. The Open Enrollment Office will notify the school of the decline acceptance to the school of choice. 

Some Elementary, K-8, and Middle Schools have identified a Waiting List. The Open Enrollment Office has sent to those schools the Waiting List. Students on the Waiting List are in random lottery order to determine placement. Those schools with a Waiting List do notify parents if additional space becomes available due to parents who have declined a registration. 

High School Registration

Open Enrollment acceptance letters for High School applications were mailed on Monday, March 24.  Registration timeline for parents who received the Acceptance Letter was from March 25 through April 11.   

Parents that determine they will decline registration are requested to notify the Open Enrollment Office at 643-9411. The Open Enrollment Office will notify the school of the decline acceptance to the school of choice. 

The Open Enrollment Office has sent to C.K. McClatchy HISP and West Campus High School a copy of the Waiting List for these schools.  Students on the Waiting List are in random lottery order to determine placement. Those schools with a Waiting List do notify parents if additional space becomes available due to parents who have declined a registration.
