Secondary ELD/English Learners Courses of Study

The ELD/English for English Learners Courses of Study are an innovation in defining expectations, curriculum, and best practices for courses for our students in grades 7-12. These local Board of Education approved courses of study lay out a pathway for students to move from the beginning level of English acquisition to proficiency in English. This pathway will enable students to master English language development (ELD) and English language arts (ELA) standards and earn full credit towards high school graduation.

The Users' Guide offers a synopsis of the content and elements contained in the courses of study.

For more information or to order a full copy of the Sacramento ELD/English Courses of Study, please contact Erlinda Luistro (ERLINDLU@sac-city.k12.ca.us.) A charge of $40.00 exists for copies of the full set of documents to cover the cost of duplication and shipping.

This project was funded by the US Department of Education under a Title VII Systemwide Improvement Grant. As such, it is in the public domain for use by schools and districts without cost. A request is made to acknowledge both the Sacramento City USD and the US Department of Education in any use or duplication of the documents.
