The Office of Multilingual Literacy is committed to narrowing the
English Language Learners (ELL) achievement gap between native
English speakers and English Language Learners, and help their
families to support their academic success and cultural
integration. The purpose of the program is to ensure that all
students who are English Language Learners (ELLs), including
immigrant children and youth, attain English proficiency, develop
high levels of academic attainment in English, and meet the same
State academic content and student academic achievement standards
as all students are expected to meet. Additionally, transitional
bilingual and language immersion programs are offered as a means
to nurture self‐pride and self‐ identity in each student’s
linguistic and cultural heritage, as well as provide students the
opportunity to master a second language.
The primary purpose of the English Learner Master Plan is: *To provide the district and the schools
with a clear statement of policies related to the development,
implementation, and evaluation of English learner programs and
services.
* Reclassification Forms
* Reclassification Notification and Appointment Letters
* Reclassification Follow Up Forms
* Tittle III Letters: AMAO, Parent Notification, CELDT

Sacramento City Unified School District Language Immersion and
Bilingual Programs.
Welcome to SCUSD’s Language Immersion Home Page. Our
district is working diligently to provide opportunities for our
students to expand their linguistic repertoire to meet the
ever-changing needs of the global economy. As a result,
language immersion programs have become a pathway for our
students to become literate in both English and their home
language.
