Mental Health, Crisis Response and Suicide Prevention

Overview

A variety of mental health services are available to students experiencing social or emotional difficulties that impact their health and school success.  Student Support and Health Services staff provide services directly to students and families and work with a wide array of community mental health providers.

In addition to the mental health services provided at SCUSD’s Student Support Centers, SSHS oversees and coordinates several distinct mental health programs including:

  • Primary Intervention Program
  • Suicide Assessment and Training
    • Youth screening, assessment and followup
    • SCUSD employee training and certification in delivering the evidence-based CSRA and SYSR tools
  • Mental Health Crisis Response
  • The Incredible Years parent training program
  • Youth Mental Health First Aid training and early detection program
