Partnering with SCUSD on a Grant
Sacramento City Unified School District welcomes the opportunity to
partner with outside agencies—which may include, for example,
community-based organizations and institutions of higher education. In
some instances, the district is the fiscal agent and provides primary
program management. In other cases, the outside agency may take the
lead, working with SCUSD school or program sites to implement the
program.
Sacramento City Unified School District
welcomes the opportunity to partner with outside agencies—which may
include, for example, community-based organizations and institutions of
higher education. In some instances, the district is the fiscal agent and
provides primary program management. In other cases, the outside agency
may take the lead, working with SCUSD school or program sites to implement
the program.
In either case, all grant proposals must go
through a formal district approval process. This is intended to assure
that:
1)
The project is consistent with the
district’s mission, its educational objectives and the legal mandates
within which our school district must operate
2) The
departments which will be involved in the project’s implementation are
supportive of the project, and have the financial and personnel resources
to fulfill the expectations specified for the district in the grant
proposal.
3) Any
matching funds contributed to the project by the district are approved by
the Budget Department.
If you are an outside agency which is
interested in forming such a partnership with SCUSD or one of its school
or program sites, please contact the appropriate Associate
Superintendent, the Grants Office or Assessment, Research &
Evaluation to discuss next steps.

Applying for a grant on behalf of a
SCUSD school or program site
If you represent a school or program site, the district intranet site
provides a very useful website known as the
Grants Information Center with a wealth of
resources to assist you in planning, writing and submitting your funding
proposal. You can find invaluable links to data to support the need for
your project, a grant planning matrix, and a sample budget. The site
also explains how to get the required signatures approving your finished
proposal for submittal. NOTE: This site is only accessible to
staff and volunteers at Inside Sac-City, the district intranet
website.
