How to Change Schools Within the District
If you would like your child to attend a district school other than your school of residence, you may apply during the Open Enrollment period. Open Enrollment will be held January 30, 2012 to February 10, 2012. Open Enrollment is a randomized computer lottery based on grade capacity at participating schools. Even if you participate in Open Enrollment, you must register your child through the Enrollment Center for their neighborhood school of residence during April 9 through April 20, 2013. Click here for Open Enrollment information or call the Open Enrollment office at 643-9075.
You may apply for an intra-district permit to have your child attend a school other than their neighborhood school of residence. You can request an intra-district permit transfer from the Enrollment Center. Permit transfers are approved based on space availability at the requested school.
How to Change Schools Outside the District
If you would like to change schools from your school of attendance to a school OUTSIDE the district, you will need to request an inter-district permit transfer from the Enrollment Center.
