Funds are raised by the
SCEF and distributed to schools in the form of scholarships and grants.
Members of the community may contribute directly to the Foundation or
through the annual United Way Campaign drive by designating their donation
to Sacramento City Educational Foundation on the campaign form.
As a result of various fund raising
efforts, the SCEF has awarded grants to SCUSD schools and teachers. The
following programs are examples of the innovative projects supported by
SCEF: Road To Success, Extending Reading is
Fundamental; School, Community & Parents Against Violence; Cross-Age
Peer Tutoring; Vocational Corner; Person to Person Project; Help Me Read;
Parents as Partners in Science; After School Tutoring; Building Biliteracy
Through Literature; Developing Student Leaders; Very Special Arts; Teen
Active Parenting; Bringing the Middle to the Top.
