Many SCUSD teachers and staff are retiring this spring after years of high-quality service to our students and families.

We wish them the best of luck as they settle into lives beyond the bell.

This week:

  • Golden Empire Elementary is celebrating the retirement of three veteran teachers: Renee Mondzak, Joanne Omand and Marti Woodward. Renee Mondzak, a current kindergarten teacher, has taught for the district for 25 years. Marti Woodward, a current first grade teacher, has taught for the district for 29 years. Joanne Omand, a current second grade teacher, has taught with the district for 39 years. Says Principal Irene Eister: “While we are happy for them, it is very bittersweet, as their teaching is a loss to our students and community. The Golden Empire staff is grateful for the years we have been able to work together. These three teachers have each contributed much to the Rosemont Community!”
  • Four teachers are retiring at Leonardo daVinci eK-8 School. Tim Sapunor and Linda Rae Cochran are both founding LdV teachers who have been at the school since 1990. Joanne Wickham joined the faculty in 1998 and Cathy Little came to the school in 2000.
  • Teri d’Artenay is retiring after 37 years as an RSP teacher, program specialist and Inclusive Practices support teacher, most recently at James Marshall and Leataata Floyd.

Congratulations!

If you know of other longtime SCUSD employees retiring this year, please send a photo and information to district Communications at communications@scusd.edu.
