West Campus Students Celebrate Big!

Students and faculty at West Campus High School have a lot to celebrate!

This past weekend, and in a 24-hour time window, three of their athletic teams won 3 section titles. 

The boys soccer team beat Escalon 2-0, the girls basketball team, for the second consecutive season, won the Sac-Joaquin Section Division IV Championship, and the boys basketball team beat Placer 67-60 to win their championship.

The celebration didn’t end there, Michael Jang is a finalist for the National Merit Scholarship. The scholarship which honors top academic ability and potential for college success.

These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $32 million that will be offered next spring. To be considered for a Merit Scholarship award, Semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the Finalist level of the competition. About 90 percent of the Semifinalists are expected to attain Finalist standing, and about half of the Finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship, earning the Merit Scholar title.
