Volunteers spruce up Golden Empire Elementary

e-Connections Post

Golden Empire Elementary School is shining thanks to the generosity of members of First Covenant Church and Fremont Presbyterian Church. These two congregations chose Golden Empire Elementary as a recipient of the Day of Service event on May 17.

The volunteers improved and spruced up the school in just four hours, focusing much of their efforts on the school garden, building new garden pathways, weeding, tilling the soil and removing dirt and debris.

A volunteer also refurbished the school’s wooden community garden sign, making it look entirely new. Volunteers also built a planter box and planted beautiful plants in front of the school’s new marquee, pruned numerous trees, weeded, pruned plants by the parking lot and deep cleaned the cafeteria and the school’s quad area.

These volunteers went above and beyond to beautify Golden Empire—making the school look extra golden! The students, staff and community are beyond grateful.
