SCUSD’s Parent Leadership Pathway featured in article

e-Connections Post

SCUSD’s Parent Leadership Pathway program – free workshops offered at schools over the course of 10 weeks — is featured in a National Journal article.

The article quotes Matsuyama Elementary School Principal Judy Montgomery (“Schools can’t run without parents”) and parent Susana Bravo, who says the program “helped us understand that there are ways to get help…We’re not alone.”

Each PLP workshop is interactive. Sessions build participants’ skills in supporting their child’s education. Topics such as homework, positive communication, building resilience and the importance of good attendance are included. Additionally, the workshops enable the group to build cohesion and community while they also practice leadership skills.
