Parkway Elementary School’s first-ever health fair brings out community and elected officials
Parkway Elementary held its first ever Health and Safety Fair on Saturday, April 29. There was great support from community partners such as SCUSD Board Member Mai Vang, California State Senator Dr. Richard Pan and County Supervisor Patrick Kennedy. Families received free Subway sandwiches, car seat checks by the California Highway Patrol, bagged fruits provided by Sacramento Food Bank and free TDAP shots for 6th graders.
Sacramento sheriffs and police departments teamed together to provide all resources such as free bike helmets. They also gave away eight bikes to students. The day culminated with the landing of the Sacramento County Sheriff’s helicopter on the field.
