Joined by Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg, State Senator Richard Pan, County Supervisor Patrick Kennedy, Superintendent Jorge Aguilar and dozens of parents, students and community members, the Pacific Elementary Pumas celebrated the ribbon cutting and grand opening of a brand new computer lab at their school on Wednesday, November 29, 2017.

Pacific applied for and won a technology makeover from IGT, an international technology company that has been awarding grants to schools around the world. Pacific Elementary is the first Sacramento area school to win a grant from IGT. The school was built in the 1960’s and has never before had a computer lab.

“This lab will be used for expanded learning,” said Principal Tara Lampkins. “There will be 25 computers for our students to use. Students will be learning about a number of programs with the computers.”
