New Tech Students to Tour Puerto Rico
Sacramento New Technology High School students Matthew Brooks-Pritchard, Brigette Wacker, Isaak Ix, Denise Miranda and Gilberto Mirazo will travel to Puerto Rico for a Spanish-language immersion trip co-led by teachers Christine Coit and Liliana Lozano-Vera from May 30 through June 6. The trip includes tours of Old San Juan, El Yunque National Forest, Ponce and Culebra. New Tech has a long tradition of educational travel. Since the school opened in 2003, students have worked with endangered sea turtles in Costa Rica, volunteered at an orphanage in Guatemala and toured Washington, D.C.
