Met Students Champion Donation Drive to Help Our Homeless Youth

e-Connections Post The Met Sacramento

Congratulations to Jeanie Young and Zauna Nuru-Bates, both seniors at the Met Sacramento High School, for making their senior project a success. They have collected donations with an estimated value of approximately $800.

They have seen first-hand how badly homelessness affects our youth and wanted to help create awareness of the problem.

They looked for a shelter that had a positive reputation in supporting our youth, and was committed to helping the LGBTQ youth.

This is how they found the Wind Youth Services shelter. They were the perfect candidates for their project and all items will be donated to the shelter.

Although the deadline to collect donations at their school was March 29, they don’t want to stop there and are teaming up with SCUSD Connect Center for additional donations.

Here are some of the items that you can donate: clothes, shoes, shaving razors, sanitary products, deodorant and other types of toiletries.

The Connect Center is located at 5601 47th Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95824 and has a bin that will be collecting donations until Friday, June 1, 2018. All items will be donated to the Wind Youth Services Shelter.

Help our youth and please consider making a donation. Thank you!
