Heidelberg’s ascension to the title was not only historic, she beat some of the best wrestlers in the nation on her way to winning the championship. In fact, on her way to the final round, she upset the number 1 and number 3 ranked wrestlers in the nation. Heidelberg had a total of 4 matches on Saturday. She outwrestled Cristina Sontoya of Monroe High School (Los Angeles) in the championship match.

On her way to the state title, Tavi Heidelberg also won the CIF Sac Joaquin Section Title on Saturday, February 17, at McNair High School in Stockton. Currently a junior at McClatchy, we look forward to seeing what Tavi will accomplish next in her bright wrestling career!
