May is Mental Health Month

This May is Mental Health Month, and SCUSD’s Student Support and Health Services Department is raising awareness about mental health and available services. Student Support and Health Services will distribute green ribbons and post cards this week throughout the district and promote its Youth Mental Health First Aid trainings. The trainings are free and open to any staff, student 18 years or older and community members. The courses are funded through a federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration grant.

Participants will take part in an eight-hour course to learn about risk factors and warning signs of adolescent mental health problems.  To learn more about the trainings and when they are scheduled, visit http://www.scusd.edu/pod/youth-mental-health-first-aid.
