Lorax Pancake Breakfast held at Camellia

e-Connections Post Camellia Basic

Approximately 200 parents and children attended Camellia Basic Elementary’s Pancake breakfast on Saturday, March 11, 2017 which used the theme of the Dr. Seuss’ book, The Lorax. Alanna Butterworth’s third grade class was inspired to choose the theme because of their participation in the district’s Project Green program. They are working on helping the other students at school change their behavior to save energy at school and at home. SMUD, Sacramento Tree Foundation, Sacramento 350 (a carbon dioxide reduction grassroots organization), and the Public Library were in the school lobby to assist with educating students and parents in ways to save energy and help the planet. Inspiring words from the Lorax graced the walls of the cafeteria: “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing will get better, no it will not.”
