e-Connections Post

The LegiSchool Project, a collaboration between Sacramento State and the California Legislature, is sponsoring an essay contest for 11th and 12th graders.

The LegiSchool Essay Contest is designed to get students thinking critically about prominent policy topics in California.

This year’s topic is climate change.

The contest is free to enter and 10 winners receive a trip to the Capitol to meet with legislators, speak with policy experts and take a VIP tour of the building. Deadline for entering is January 30.

LegiSchool’s mission is to engage young people in matters of public policy and state government. The project’s goal is to make government relevant to young people, laying the groundwork for the next generation’s on-going commitment to civic life.
