Learn how to get ‘Cash for College’

Need cash for college?

All parents and students are invited to attend one of the many local Cash for College workshops put on by the Sacramento CAL-Soap Consortium:

  • 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, at Rosemont High School 
  • 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 26, at John F. Kennedy High School
  • 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3, at Luther Burbank
  • 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, at Sacramento City College

 Students and their parents should arrive with the following items:

  • Student’s Social Security card and driver’s license (or government- issued ID), if available
  • Parent’s Social Security card, if available
  • Parent’s federal income tax returnor W-2 forms from tax year 2015 (or 2014 to make an estimate)
  • Records of untaxed income such as child support, TANF, interest income, veterans non-education benefits, Social Security benefits
  • Student’s W-2 forms, pay records or records of income earned during 2015
  • Bank account records or statements
  • Records of stocks, bonds or investments, business records
  • If not a US citizen, bring alien registration card (if available)
  • A list of the colleges you are interested in
