Kit Carson students take anti-bullying message on the road
Kit Carson Middle School’s eighth grade leadership students, taught by Jed Larsen, recently developed a 45-minute anti-bullying presentation for fellow students.
The PowerPoint includes the definition of bullying and cyberbullying, the effects of each, and what students can do about it.
The students presented to their Kit Carson peers and the district’s Bullying Prevention Specialist Jessica Wharton, and then they took their show on the road.
The leadership group has presented to intermediate students at Tahoe Elementary and David Lubin Elementary. This week, they are presenting to students at Bret Harte Elementary and will be presenting to students at Caleb Greenwood Elementary at the end of May.
Kit Carson is an International Baccalaureate (IB) Candidate School, part of an East Sacramento K-12 IB track that includes Caleb Greenwood School.
