Kindergarten Summer Academy registration underway
June 2 is the deadline for enrolling students in the district’s Summer Academy. Priority is for children with no preschool experience.
Kindergarten Summer Academy is a four-week program that engages children in developmentally appropriate learning activities and helps prepare them for the transition to kindergarten. A parent orientation session is offered and families will be able to visit a classroom, meet teachers and staff and learn more about the school. Developmental and health screenings will also be provided. Parents will also learn of behavior and attendance expectations and can meet other families.
The summer academy will be offered at:
- Abraham Lincoln (3324 Glenmoor Drive)
- Bear Flag (6620 Gloria Drive)
- Earl Warren (5420 Lowell Street)
- Edward Kemble (7495 29th Street)
- Fr. Keith B. Kenny (3525 M. L. King Jr. Blvd.)
- H.W. Harkness (2147 54th Avenue)
- John Still (2200 John Still Drive)
- Oak Ridge (4501 M. L. King Jr. Blvd.)
Parents must enroll eligible students in person, and children must be enrolled NOW for kindergarten. Parents or guardians will need to present the child’s original shot record and birth certificate.
