Kennedy, McClatchy cross-country runners qualify for state tournament

Cross country runners from C.K. McClatchy and John F. Kennedy high schools have qualified for the 2013 California CIF Cross Country State Championship in Fresno on November 30.

JFK sophomore Haley Adel finished fourth at the San Joaquin section finals to became the first female cross country runner from Kennedy to qualify for the state tournament since Yvonne Liebig in 1998.

CKM senior Carlos Cruz will make his second appearance at state meet and he will be joined by junior Jeffrey Rutledge who will be racing the historical Woodward Park course for the first time. Cruz finished sixth and Rutledge eighth overall at the section finals to punch their tickets to Fresno.
