California Supreme Court Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye and Federal District Presiding Judge Morrison England visited the classrooms of Sutter Middle School teachers Jody Cooperman and Katie Miller on February 7.

Students in Cooperman and Miller’s classes have been studying the Bill of Rights and recently toured the Capitol and county courthouse. During their visit to Sutter, the judges addressed the differences between the state and federal court systems and the importance of learning how to write well.

Both Cantil-Sakauye and England grew up in Sacramento and both are alumni of C.K. McClatchy High School.
