If You Hear Or See A School Threat Report It!

e-Connections Post

At this time of heightened concern over school safety, we want to thank you in advance for helping us work together to keep schools safe. Here are three ways you can assist.

First, we are seeing social media posts about perceived threats at specific schools. That kind of information – true or not, can make schools more vulnerable. If you see or hear something that worries you regarding school safety, please report it to law enforcement or to an adult at the school immediately.

Second, pranks and jokes that interrupt school raise the level of anxiety. Such acts are taken seriously and can result in discipline and/or arrest. Please help reinforce the message to our children that any prank or joke that can be perceived as a school safety threat is not funny and students should never engage or encourage such acts.

Third, we ask that you remind our students to report safety issues or threats to an adult rather than spreading rumors. If you hear or see something, don’t spread it, report it!

Thank you again for your support. Together we can continue to work together to keep our schools safe.
