Help your student on the path to college
Workshop offered October 3 at Serna Center

e-Connections Post

For a student to be prepared for the rigors of college, they must understand the importance of taking challenging coursework and they must be prepared to do well on college admission tests.

Parents and teenagers are invited to a free workshop on Wednesday, October 3, featuring keynote speaker Ben Tucker, an education consultant who worked in admissions outreach for the University of California system.

He will emphasize the benefits of doing well on the PSAT and explain the feedback that the PSAT provides on each student’s strengths and areas of improvement. In addition, he will discuss the advantages of taking Advanced Placement (AP) courses in high school.

Also present will be a panel of SCUSD students who will share their experiences and challenges during high school, and how they were able to succeed.

Mark your calendar:  6 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 3, Serna Center Community Rooms, 5735 47th Ave., Sacramento.
