Health Professions alum wins spot as Congressional intern

e-Connections Post Arthur A. Benjamin Health Professions

Health Professions High School alumnae Alexis Kelley will serve as a Congressional intern in Washington, D.C., this summer and fall through the Leon and Sylvia Panetta Institute for Public Policy.

Each intern is assigned to work for two and half months in a Capitol Hill office following a two-week course at the Panetta Institute. In addition to their work in Congressional offices, interns participate in weekly seminars on policy issues and aspects of government.

Kelley is a student at San Diego State University, where she is focusing on legislative policy and health care.

Her interests in both subject were sparked by participation in Health Profession’s Women’s Health Club.
