Halloween is Monday — help kids stay safe

e-Connections Post

Halloween is Monday, and SCUSD is asking parents to help students stay safe by carefully considering their costume choices.

Masks that cover a student’s face are never appropriate to wear to school. Costumes or props that suggest or depict violence are also inappropriate attire for school, and, in some case, can lead to disciplinary action.

This year, parents should also discourage students from wearing costumes tied to social media scares over “creepy clowns.” Would-be pranksters dressed as creepy clowns have been assaulted across the country. The creepy clown phenomenon has also led to the arrest of dozens across the country.
