Elementary Students in FIRST Lego League Celebrates

e-Connections Post Earl Warren Mark Twain Tahoe

On June 2nd, the College and Career Readiness department hosted a celebration for the district’s FIRST Lego League Jr. Program participants. It was a fun filled day with activities, robotics celebrations  and pizza to end out the school year. Students also demonstrated their extensive knowledge to team reviewers. This year’s program was AQUA Adventure and students not only took a look at water usage in the Sacramento Valley, they learned critical thinking and basic coding skills.

This year we celebrated Mark Twain Elementary, Tahoe Elementary and Earl Warren Elementary. With the support of people like Councilmember Eric Guerra and Board Member Michael Minnick, this is a program we hope to see expand into other elementary schools.

Special thank you to School of Engineering and Sciences, Ken Davis, for bringing out their FIRST Robotics Robot, student volunteers, and a super-large JENGA! The event was sponsored by the Optimist Club of Sacramento. An enormous thank you to them for their ongoing support and volunteer time.
