CKM student to compete in national debate tournament
Freshman wins regional Ronald Reagan Great Communicator Debate

C.K. McClatchy High School freshman Sarah Whipple recently received a $2,500 scholarship for winning the regional online Ronald Reagan Great Communicator Debate tournament.

In the regional competition, students were asked to present both pro and con arguments to the resolution “In order to graduate from high school, students must pass an exam that measures civic knowledge and participation skills.”

Whipple and one parent will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Southern California where Whipple will compete for a final scholarship of up to $25,000.
