Cascar Machine Shop offers internship to Met student

Editor’s note: The following was written by student Shyanne Faire of The Met Sacramento High School.

Cascar Machine Shop is an auto industrial engine rebuilding shop. They also do a lot of welding work. One of our students, freshman Miguel Lara, currently interns there.

Miguel does a few different things at Cascar. He cleans engines, sandblasts and is learning more as he goes. A lot of the work he does is hands-on, so he gets to really get in there and learn by doing.

His favorite part about his internship is that he has a lot of great mentors that are willing to teach him anything. His mentor, Will Contreras (owner of the shop), said, “By the end of his internship, Miguel will know the ins and outs of the things we do.”
