Carver student wins state art competition

George Washington Carver School of Arts & Science student Daniela Marquez, a junior, has won the State Senate’s 10th Annual Biannual California Art Competition.

Marquez’s pen and ink drawing “Olive Tree” (above) will be on display at the Capitol for the next 18 months.

The prestigious art competition is sponsored by Senate President pro Tem Darrell Steinberg.
