Camellia Basic hosts pancake breakfast to kick off ‘Cougar Safety Week’
Camellia Basic Elementary School’s PTA is sponsoring a pancake breakfast on Saturday, February 16, to kick off four days of safety awareness assemblies and parent education sessions.
The breakfast is from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and will include a free safety expo with school partners Safe Kids Coalition, Walk Sacramento, Legal Services of Northern California, the CHP and Assemblyman Roger Dickinson.Tickets are $3 for children and $5 for adults.
The breakfast will launch “Cougar Safety Week: Protecting our ‘Paws,’ ‘Maws,’ ‘Cubs’ and More.” Assemblies and parent workshops will be held on such topics as bike and pedestrian safety, emergency preparedness, health hazards, bullying prevention and cyber safety.
The safety week events coincide with national PTA’s “Take Your Family to School Week” which is celebrated in February to commemorate PTA’s founding on February 17, 1897.
