Caleb Greenwood IB students create Peace Wall, partner with Sac State
Caleb Greenwood, An International Baccalaureate World School, recently recognized International Day of Peace by creating a school-wide Peace Wall.
Students added their visions for peace on a map, a way of focusing on the IB learner profile attribute of open-mindedness.
“By being open-minded we can begin to make the world a better, more peaceful place,” says IB Primary Years Program Coordinator Kelly Cordero. “The IB learner profile represents 10 attributes valued by IB World Schools. We believe these attributes, and others like them, can help individuals and groups become responsible members of local, national and global communities.”
Caleb Greenwood is also continuing its second year of partnership with Sacramento State’s International Students Exchange, called Caleb Culture Club.
Students from South Korea, China, Libya, Iran and a variety of other home countries teach language, games and songs to Caleb students. “The international students gain valuable English practice and our Caleb students interact and learn with people from a variety of countries and backgrounds,” Cordero says. “It’s a win-win for us all!”
