California Middle School students raised more than $820 during the campus’s annual Pennies for Patients Penny Wars Battle fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Students brought in pennies over the course of three weeks, and the classes with the most money earned bragging rights for the remainder of the year.

Top three classes were Maria Aguilar’s eighth grade science class, Preston Jackson’s physical education class and Ted Wong and Karla Hankins’ math class.

Says Principal Andrea Egan: “We are so very proud of our students who made this fundraiser an overwhelming success!”
