Cal Middle MESA Students Visit the State Capitol
TechNet hosted the Cal Middle MESA students at a special STEM experience at the State Capitol on April 2nd, as part of the activities hosted related to establishing California’s Diversity in STEM and Tech Week.
This STEM experience was presented by Verizon’s partner Virtual Reality Lab. In this experience, kids traveled around the world without leaving their seats. Even better? Each student also created their own 360° experience AND all participants got to take home their very own VR headset device so they can continue to explore the world of virtual reality at home.
In the Augmented Reality section of the lab, students experienced how digital information is integrated with their own environment in real time. They inspected the anatomy of a human brain and explored the solar system – all without leaving their seats! All participants left with a QR code so that they can continue to explore the Augmented Reality world at home.
Cal students were then escorted to the Senate and Assembly galleries for the presentation of the Resolutions establishing April 1 – 7, 2018 as California’s Diversity in STEM and Tech week. Assemblyman Holden acknowledged our students, as did Senator Pan!
