Cable TV to air student video marathon on Thanksgiving

e-Connections Post

Sacramento Educational Cable Consortium will air its annual Student Digital Video Thanksgiving Day marathon from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on November 26.

The marathon will feature 24 back-to-back episodes of entries from the organization’s annual Student Educational Video Awards contest. Viewers can tune in on cable TV Channel 15 or stream online at www.secctv.org

Videos to be shown focus on educational topics such as avoiding substance abuse, anti-bullying campaigns, resources for depression and cancer as well as space travel, study habits, sports and technology.

“By watching these student videos, we learn what’s important to them to express — as opposed to what the news stations decide is important,” said SECC Communications Manager Lynn Marlowe. “From the serious to animations, the varied messages provide an insight into the issues in students’ lives today — something everyone can benefit from.”
