Blue Diamond Growers Brings Holiday Fun to Washington Elementary

e-Connections Post Washington

Thank you to Blue Diamond Growers in Sacramento for hosting their holiday events for children at the local Washington Head Start/State Preschool and Washington Elementary School. The events took place over two days and included a Santa’s Workshop, gift delivery and showing of the movie Polar Express.

On Tuesday, December 19, Blue Diamond team members transformed the Sacramento Blue Diamond Factory into the North Pole and escorted as many as 60 children from the Head Start Preschool. Children experienced magical Christmas fun with cookie decorating, crafts, games and photos with Santa. The next day, Santa and his elves delivered wrapped gifts for each of the preschoolers. Gifts are donated and wrapped by Blue Diamond team members through a raffle fundraiser during the month of December.

Blue Diamond Growers decided this year to also open the doors of its theater to Washington Elementary School K-6th graders. The elementary school shares the same campus with the Head Start preschool. With more than 200 seats, children watched showings of the Polar Express in their pajamas and enjoyed Christmas-themed goodies.

Blue Diamond’s generosity and engagement are truly appreciated and demonstrate to our students that our community cares about their success,” said Jay Hansen, Sacramento City Unified School District Board Member.
