Alice Birney Students Donate Handmade Blankets to Project Linus
Students from Alice Birney Waldorf-Inspired eK-8 School presented hand-knitted blankets to officials of Project Linus last month, culminating the school’s fundraising Knit-A-Thon drive. Some of the blankets will help warm and comfort the students at Mustard Seed School for homeless children. Others will be distributed to local hospitals. Students Sylvan Quady, Emma Bath, Liam Clayton and Rachel Friedberg knitted the most squares and raised the most money and therefore had the honor of presenting the blankets to Project Linus officials. After delivering the blankets, the students were treated to lunch by Principal Mechelle Horning.
