Patience
and Peace Begins with Me
Attention Staff,
Students and Parents/Guardians:
Over the past ten
years our event has had participants from churches, public and private
schools in the Sacramento, Stockton, Elk Grove, and North Sacramento
areas. The Annual “Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration
Event” will occur at the Sacramento Convention Center again this year.
Our oratorical event provides an opportunity for students in the
Northern California area to participate and showcase their talents.
Please pass this information along to others in your district,
school site, church and/or family.
Once we receive your
confirmation form stating an interest then a registration packet will be
sent to you. Students may choose poems in the packet or they may develop
original works, recite other poems, or perform skits or another type of
Visual/ Performing Art (performing arts grades 3-12th grade
only). Please submit a copy of the proposed piece your child/student
will be reciting/performing by Monday, December 3, 2001 to our office.
All original works and art displays must adhere to the theme, Patience
and Peace Begins with Me. During the first week of January you
will be contacted as to the time your student(s)/child (ren) will be on
the program.
Thanks
in advance for caring about all children and helping them have this
opportunity to showcase. If
you are in need of further information, please do not hesitate to
contact me.
