Susan B. Anthony Elementary School is the CA Home Visiting Center’s featured “School of the Month”. The school’s principal, Carol Sharp, is a firm believer in the power of home visits. Her staff has conducted over 1,960 home visits since the start of their program in 1998. At Susan B. Anthony, the positive outcomes from home visits include:

• Strengthened parent/teacher relationships
• Increase in overall student achievement scores
• Decrease in student suspensions (from 120 to 20)
• Increase in student attendance (98%!)
• Feeling of trust, mutual respect, empowerment, and accountability by parents, students, and staff

Susan B. Anthony’s successful home visiting program has been recognized by the George Lucas Education Foundation, CBS, ABC, Time Magazine, Florida Dept. of Education, local news channels and Sacramento Area Congregations Together.
